Unexpected Construction

The day before yesterday Russell went to plug in the vacuum and noticed that the drywall was soft and bubbling beneath the outlet. Ugh. Not fun. Looks like the roof is dripping into the wall somehow.

The good news is that insurance will cover most of the repairs after a deductible. And the great news is that we get to replace the floor. It's been on my long-term wishlist for house repairs so I'm excited.

Well, kinda excited. As you can see the fallout from all this is pretty disruptive. But it is what it is. I feel like we signed up for some kind of course called "Learning to Make the Best of Things" without knowing about it. I guess that's just called "Life" isn't it.

Update: It's pretty bad back there. The frame is rotting and the exterior wall is all wet. They paused to make sure our insurance will cover this new development. Crossing our fingers. Bah!
