moist chocolate cake

I made this cake for Lauren's birthday. Nothing amazing. I didn't spend time worrying about how it looked. Lauren and I are way past appearances. We grew up sharing a room so there really isn't anything to hide between us. No point in pretending. She's all about chocolate so I just went with it and I really liked the recipe I found. The cake turned out really moist and thick which is just how I like it.

Unfortunately I can't enjoy the combination of coffee and chocolate that everyone online raves about (except for in french silk ice cream, mocha FLAVORED, no actual caffeine. By far my favorite ice cream ever.) but it's not worth comprimising faith for chocolate cake, no matter how good they say it is. :) So for this recipe I just replaced the coffee with milk and it turned out great!
