be reasonable

I've always been pretty good at setting unattainable goals. For example, my budget plan is "don't spend anything". So whenever I do spend anything, even on groceries, I feel pretty guilty. Also I have an expectation that I should keep my entire apartment clean at all times. (which is unreasonable for me, maybe it's not for everybody...) But it makes me really discouraged when things get messy, and then I feel hopeless and don't clean anything. Another example is that I want long hair again. And I want it fast.

I'm starting to realize that all of this isn't helping me at all. So I'm making an effort to be a little more realistic. Okay, a lot more. $100 a week for groceries (I used to be able to do 50 when we were newlyweds, but with formula and diapers etc I can't make that work anymore unless we were going to eat ramen everyday. Which I would probably be fine with but Russell's not a fan and we would eventually die from malnourishment) - Clean for 1/2 hour a day, then stop and not worry about it if the house isn't perfect. And finally, my goal is to grow my hair out to this length:

Maggie Gyllenhaal in Stranger than Fiction. I love this movie. When Russell got home from his mission it was the first movie that we watched and he thought it was really weird. The awkward make out scene probably didn't help anything either. Plus it's a little unconventional and different. But we watched this about a week ago and he liked it this time around.

Cute haircut right? yes, I can do this. It might take a few months but I'll make it.

Anna! Those two pictures have been in my short hair inspiration file forever! Stranger Than Fiction is one of my favorite movies ever, and I want to be her character- down to the tattoos and the bakery! Of course you have the natural curl that would totally rock this, so I'm willing to give up my dream as long as you post pictures.

Thanks for making my night!
