happy birthday john

I really can't say enough good things about my older brother John. He's always been my hero. He's tall and handsome, super out-going and friendly (I remember walking across campus with him after his mission and everyone knew him... even at BYU... wha?), and such a good example and peacemaker. I think that the reason why my mom and dad had the courage to have so many kids was because their first turned out so well. He led the way for all of us - and was probably a comfort to my mom when I was in my crazy teenage years (from ages 4 to 18. Seriously, check out that skimpy outfit up there).

But seriously John is the kindest person I know. I remember once when I was in high school I was just having a terrible day, I can't remember the details, but I do remember crying my eyes out on my bed. I heard the door open and footsteps come up to my bed and John put his hand on my shoulder and stayed with me until I recovered. It seems simple, but things like that have meant the world to me. That's just one example of a million things that John has done for other people, the greatest and smallest of which is simply letting people know that he cares and that he's there for them.

Thanks for being my big brother John! Love you!

It's true, John is so noble and good. Its the lifestyle of consistently showing others that he cares about them. He really lives by the motto "people are more important."
